Candace Cameron Bure shares why she decided to remove a revealing photo of herself from social media. The “Dancing With the Stars” alum explained that it wasn’t worth dealing with some of the negative comments, even though she wanted to share a “happy moment.”
Candace Cameron Bure Deleted a Swimsuit Photo
In September 2025, Cameron Bure posted a swimsuit photo on Instagram that she later deleted after receiving a flood of comments.
A fan asked on her Instagram Stories, “Did you post a bikini photo like yesterday then take it down?”
Bure responded, “Yes. I was at the beach. I was in a one piece, not a bikini. I am soaking up the end of the summer. I was having fun.”
She continued, “It wasn’t about my bathing suit or my body. But the comments became flooded with people discussing my body.”
“It wasn’t worth it,” the actress added. “I took it down.”
‘I Don’t Need for People To Pick Apart My Body’
In a November 2025 interview with Us Weekly, Cameron Bure further addressed the situation.
“I do feel confident and secure in who I am, however, I feel like there’s still always a pressure [to look a certain way],” she noted. “I do feel great. If my husband loves me and tells me I look great, then that’s all that matters.”
Cameron Bure explained that removing the Instagram post allowed her to avoid negative comments.
“People are always going to have an opinion, and sometimes you forget that for a moment because you’re like, ‘Hey, happy moment. Gonna share something,'” she said. “And then you’re like, ‘Oh, why did I share it?'”
The “Full House” alum continued, “In that case, I just felt like it was easier to take it down, because I don’t need to have controversy over it.”
“I don’t need for people to pick apart my body,” she added. “I’m like, ‘That’s fine, you can have an opinion. I’m just going to take it away so you don’t get to say what you want about that part of my life.’ And that’s fine.”
Cameron Bure also addressed her upcoming milestone birthday, noting that she doesn’t feel like she’s going to be 50.
“I think I’m always gonna feel like I’m 30. I think of [my real] number, and I’m like, ‘I’m that old?'” she said. “I guess I’m making myself excited about turning 50. I don’t know if I’m really excited about it, but I’m kind of, like, willing myself to be excited.”
