Christmas Con Shake-Up: Beloved Hallmark and GAF Star Cameron Mathison Can’t Attend

That’s4Entertainment confirmed on Instagram that a beloved Christmas movie favorite has dropped out of this year’s Christmas Con.

Cameron Mathison, a longtime Hallmark staple who has since transitioned to Great American Family, will not attend the 2025 convention due to a scheduling conflict, organizers announced.

“Due to a scheduling conflict, our friend Cameron Mathison won’t be able to join us this year for Christmas Con,” the post read. “He will be missed dearly! But we’ve got some very merry news to make up for it… another surprise guest announcement is coming your way today!”

Mathison has not yet commented on the announcement.

Fans Disappointed as Cameron Mathison Cancels Christmas Con Appearance

Fans immediately flooded the comment section with disappointment and well-wishes. “We’ll miss you, Cam! We know it’s out of your control,” one fan wrote. Another added, “He’s always one of my favorites to see! Gonna miss you big time.”

Others were torn between sadness and curiosity. “We’ll definitely miss him! Can’t wait to see the new announcement though!” one follower said.

The announcement comes just days after Mathison promoted his latest Christmas movie, “Another Sweet Christmas,” describing it as “a celebration of love, faith, and the true spirit of Christmas.”

The actor also attended the Baby2Baby Gala in Hollywood the night before the news broke, writing on Instagram, “Very grateful and honored to be a guest at the Paul Mitchell table last night for the beautiful and deeply meaningful @baby2baby gala.”

From Hallmark to Great American Family: Cameron Mathison’s Ongoing Career

Mathison first rose to fame as Ryan Lavery on “All My Children,” a role he played from 1997 to 2011. His performance earned him a Soap Opera Digest Award and multiple Daytime Emmy nominations. Since 2021, he has starred as Drew Cain on “General Hospital,” continuing his long run as one of daytime television’s most recognizable faces.

Outside the soap world, Mathison became a household name through his work with Hallmark Channel, where he starred in fan-favorite projects like the “Murder, She Baked” mystery franchise and numerous Christmas films. He also appeared in series such as “Castle,” “Desperate Housewives,” and “Hot in Cleveland,” and made his feature film debut in the 1998 movie “54.”

More recently, Mathison joined Great American Family, continuing to build his reputation as one of the leading men of feel-good television.

Christmas Con 2025 Still Promises Plenty of Holiday Cheer

While fans are disappointed not to see him at Christmas Con this year, many expressed excitement about what he might be working on next. As one fan commented, “I hope he’ll be back next year! I can’t wait to see what he’s filming.”

Despite Mathison’s absence, That’s4Entertainment’s Christmas Con lineup remains packed with festive stars.

The event, set for December 12–14 at the New Jersey Expo Center in Edison, will feature Hallmark favorites including Tyler Hynes, Andrew Walker, Paul Campbell, and Kimberley Sustad, alongside newcomers Jessy Schram, Marcus Rosner, and Travis Van Winkle.

And that surprise guest that was promised? None other than Jesse Metcalfe!
