Singer-songwriter Jhené Aiko Efuru Chilombo shared a big announcement with fans on Saturday, November 22. The musician took to Instagram to share several photos from a very special evening with Femme It Forward for their fourth annual Give Her FlowHers gala, where she was honored with an award that means so much to her.

Aiko posted several photos from the ceremony on Instagram, including a close-up view of her stunning dress: a fitted yellow gown with intricate gold and yellow floral details. It is a gorgeous outfit, and she looked incredible. To complete her look, Aiko opted to wear her hair up, keep her neckline bare, and wear natural makeup.
In the caption, she discussed the event and what receiving the award means to her. “Thank you @femmeitforward for a beautiful evening and for choosing me to receive the ‘Glow Getter Award,’” she wrote. “Light can not exist without dark, and after a year of so many personal loses… this night was a much needed reminder that there is always a gift, even in darkness and uncertainty. These are the moments we have the opportunity to hear God with more clarity: ‘I am with you always. You are never alone. You walk with an army of angels and ancestors. You gotta keep going.’”
She took time to reflect on her speech, informing fans that she hadn’t had the time to write anything before, and she expressed her gratitude. “I am so thankful to have been in this room with so many inspirational and intentional women. I am beyond grateful to have shared this moment with my family, who have carried me through my darkest days… lending me their light so that I never lose my spark… showing me what it means to be of service and prioritize family; the embodiment of love.”
